Last week’s wonderfully surreal experience was made possible by client Blue Élan Records and their 10th anniversary celebration in Los Angeles. While I loved the dinner party on Tuesday, the concert at the Whisky A Go-Go on Wednesday, and the sessions at Clear Lake Recording Studios on Thursday, my favorite parts were the hours I spent recording interviews with the co-founder of the label, Kirk Pasich, and several of the artists on their amazing roster. Here I am with Scott Terry of clients Red Wanting Blue, discussing their new album, Light It Up. I also had great interviews with:
- The Devlins (clients)
- Chris Shiflett
- Jesse Dayton
- Ozomatli
- Morgan Myles
- Courtney Santana
Backstage at the Whisky A Go-Go interviewing Chris Shiflett of Foo Fighters. We discussed his solo album Lost At Sea. Very different from the Foo Fighters, but very good. We also talked about the video broadcast where the Foos unveiled Josh Freese as their new drummer and Chris spontaneously launched into the guitar riff for "Workin For A Livin" by Huey Lewis & The News.
Interview segments coming soon.
