Bands Need Their Own Interviewer
Here I am in 2024 interviewing Darius Rucker and Jim "Soni" Sonefeld from Hootie & The Blowfish. I was getting material for Sister Hazel's 30th anniversary.
After weeks of emails and phone calls, I got the green light to meet with them at a local concert venue. I drove over in the rain, with Ken Block from Sister Hazel (on tour elsewhere in the country) texting me memories to ask them about.
Throughout the day the schedule changed, rooms were switched, and I cobbled together a makeshift workstation using random pieces of furniture. But I also got interviews with Dean Felber and Mark Bryan of Hootie, Ed Roland of Collective Soul, and Sister Hazel's original tour manager. I left nine hours later with a lot of great material.
