Facing Fears
Recently my therapist said that a problem with my approach to business is that I am trying to put myself out there and hide at the same time. Sadly, that analysis was spot on.
I hate talking about myself. This is a reaction to narcissists I endure in my personal life and the headline-grabbing narcissists we all hear about. The (irrational) fear is that, if I talk positively about myself once, I will become just like these awful people. So I hide.
And if my business was an app or a widget, that would probably be okay. But fortunately or unfortunately my business is me. Thus, I am going to try to face this fear and talk about (shudder) myself.
If you don’t know, I develop custom content with professional musicians that tells their stories via their website, newsletters, social media, etc. The linchpin that all of it is built on: My interviews with them. I am good at my job. In fact, from what I have seen, not many people can do what I do.
If you want custom content that really delves into your music, that showcases your passion and talent, and that does not treat your fans like idiots, contact me.
And if you need a reference, contact Huey Lewis & The News, Cowboy Mouth, or The Fabulous Thunderbirds. I have been working with those artists for over a decade.
