From Brewing Ideas to Quick Strikes: Johnny Moeller Adapts His Songwriting Style After Working with Ian Moore and Jesse Dayton
Cris Cohen: Coming off of this experience, how might all of this influence you as a songwriter going forward?
Johnny Moeller of the Texas Headhunters: It definitely already is. We spent yesterday jamming and Ian (Moore) wrote a song. He went for a jog, came back, and goes, “Man, I went into the town here and got all inspired and wrote a song.” Just being around that. And then we went back here and started putting it together. Really cool song that just kind of happened yesterday.
And Jesse’s (Dayton) the same way. A song will happen really quick. I have a lot of things brewing, but watching those guys... They do it so much. It comes together really quickly sometimes. So trying to get myself into that kind of rhythm, being that guy.
