From Letterman to Legendary: How The Fabulous Thunderbirds Reimagined 'Nothing in Rambling'
With special guests Bonnie Raitt, Keb' Mo', Taj Mahal, and Mick Fleetwood
Kim Wilson of The Fabulous Thunderbirds (clients): Years ago we performed "Nothing in Rambling" on David Letterman and it got millions of views. So when we were planning the Struck Down album, we said, if we are going to do a cover tune, this is the one.
First we sent the track to Keb' Mo'. He was in a studio with Taj Mahal. They laid down their vocals and Keb's guitar. From there it went to Bonnie Raitt to add her vocals and acoustic guitar. Then Mick Fleetwood laid down his drum parts. Finally it came back to me and I added the last verse of vocals and harmonica.
When you get musicians this talented, it blows your mind to hear how good they are. And it makes you very proud of what we created.
