Ryan Newell of clients Sister Hazel: I think songs that come to you and feel effortless are usually the better songs. Because sometimes, in the songs that you work too hard on, you can almost hear the work, versus hearing the off-the-cuff fun of a song.
That being said, we have had success powering through songwriting, but it's not nearly as fun.
And try to listen to a song from an audience perspective versus a musician's perspective. I think that is important.
