The Value You Can't See: A Musical Mirror of Self-Worth
Chris Berardo on his new song "Somebody Like Me"
Chris Berardo: “Somebody Like Me” is a love song. It’s saying, I see a value in you that I don’t think you’re perceiving. I know so many situations like this in my life, where I’ll have to say to somebody, “I don’t know who fed you this bill of goods that you’re not good at this. But I see exactly who you are, and how amazing you are at this or that.”
We all work from a hefty well of self-doubt. And I think that song is somebody saying, “Life’s a struggle. We’re going to have setbacks. Don’t miss the stuff you’re great at. And don’t let somebody confuse you into thinking that you’re not.”
That can really unlock a person.
