Would this be a fair response?

Occasionally, when explaining my work to a potential client (musicians or a band manager), they will say, “We want someone who does X.” X in this case is some trending social media gimmick.

They will say, “You should do X. X gets big numbers on social media.”

I am tempted to respond, “Taylor Swift is at the top of the charts. You should give up on you what you do and just imitate Taylor Swift.”

You have no idea how offended they would be by that.

But would it be a fair response?
